GoTelemetry Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

GoTelemetry ("the App") is a motorsport telemetry and driving analysis application that receives live telemetry from supported racing games over your local network, stores driving sessions on your device, and optionally uploads qualifying leaderboard laps for GoTelemetry Pro features.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Firebase anonymous user ID (automatically generated)
• Optional Google Sign-In account information
• Your chosen public username
• Profile preferences

The automatically generated Firebase user ID is pseudonymous and does not identify your real-world identity.

Telemetry & Session Data

The App receives telemetry directly from your compatible racing game over your local Wi-Fi network.

Telemetry may include:

• Vehicle speed
• Throttle and brake position
• Steering input
• Engine RPM and gear
• Lap times and sector times
• Vehicle position
• Tyre information
• Fuel information
• Vehicle dynamics information exposed by the game

Normal driving sessions and lap recordings are stored locally on your device.

Leaderboard Uploads

If you have an active GoTelemetry Pro subscription and record a lap that qualifies for leaderboard submission, the App automatically uploads that qualifying lap to cloud services.

Uploaded data may include:

• Your Firebase user ID
• Your chosen username
• Track identifier
• Vehicle identifier
• Lap time and sector times
• Telemetry associated with the qualifying lap

Only qualifying leaderboard laps are uploaded automatically. Other recorded sessions remain stored locally on your device.

Subscription Information

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive subscription verification information but do not receive your payment card details.

Technical Information

• App version
• Operating system version
• Device model
• Crash reports
• Diagnostics
• Anonymous usage analytics

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide telemetry analysis features
• Store driving sessions
• Operate leaderboards
• Verify subscriptions
• Authenticate users
• Improve application reliability
• Fix crashes and bugs
• Protect against abuse and fraud

We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising or advertising profiling purposes.

4. Live Telemetry

Live telemetry from your PlayStation or supported device is received directly over your local network.

Live telemetry is not streamed through our servers during normal app use.

5. Leaderboards

If you have subscribed to GoTelemetry, and not opted out of leaderboards, then in leaderboards other users may see:

• Your chosen username
• Your lap times
• Vehicle used
• Track used
• Related leaderboard statistics

Leaderboard uploads cannot currently be individually deleted.

6. Third Party Services

GoTelemetry uses trusted third-party services including:

• Firebase Authentication
• Firebase Firestore
• Firebase Cloud Storage
• Firebase Analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics
• Google Sign-In
• Google Play Billing
• Apple In-App Purchase (iOS, when available)
• Apple Sign-In (iOS, when available)

These services process information according to their own privacy policies.

8. Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your GoTelemetry account and remove associated cloud profile data at any time.

How to delete your account in the app

1. Open GoTelemetry on your device.
2. Tap the Settings (gear) icon.
3. Scroll to Delete Account and tap it.
4. Review what will be deleted, then tap Continue (delete).
5. Confirm by tapping Delete My Account.
6. If your account is linked to Google, complete the Google sign-in prompt to verify your identity.

Deletion is processed immediately. After deletion, you will be signed in as a new anonymous user and prompted to choose a new username if you continue using the app.

Data deleted

• Your Firebase authentication account
• Your GoTelemetry username and user profile
• Your Google account link (if connected)
• Account recovery mappings associated with your profile

Data kept (anonymised)

• Previously uploaded qualifying leaderboard laps may remain so leaderboard integrity is preserved. Your username on those entries is replaced with Deleted user and is no longer linked to your account.
• Associated leaderboard telemetry may remain in cloud storage for the same reason. It is no longer associated with an active account or your username.

Data not deleted automatically

• Driving sessions stored locally on your device (.t1s files). Remove these by deleting sessions in the app or uninstalling GoTelemetry
• Subscription purchase records held by Google Play for billing and legal compliance (GoTelemetry does not receive payment card details).
• Crash reports and analytics already collected may be retained according to Firebase retention policies (see Section 7).

Retention after deletion

Deleted account and profile data is removed promptly and is not retained beyond what is needed for anonymised leaderboard entries, billing/legal obligations, or Firebase diagnostic retention described in Section 7.

Cannot access the app?

Email using contact below, from the email address linked to your Google account (if applicable), or include your GoTelemetry username. We will verify your request and complete deletion within 30 days if reasonably verifiable.

9. International Processing

Cloud services used by GoTelemetry may process information in countries outside your own, including the United States, using infrastructure operated by Google Firebase.

10. Future Features

GoTelemetry may expand in the future to support additional racing titles, platforms (including iOS), cloud synchronization features, social features, AI-assisted analysis, and additional leaderboard functionality.

If future features require additional collection or use of personal information beyond this policy, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

11. Children's Privacy

GoTelemetry is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect collected information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

• Access your information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account
• Object to certain processing
• Withdraw consent where applicable
